This is the RSD Lite tool developed by the XDA Developers. This tool can be used to flash or install stock firmware. The official tool from Motorola is required if you want to successfully update your Motorola smartphone or tablet. But, if you want to play around with your device, this unofficial tool from XDA Developers can be used for that.
Although the stock ROM’s are generally updated and you will get OTA updates as usual, XDA Developers don’t push updates to their tool as it is a very official tool from Motorola and you can’t play with it on the play store. But you can flash it on your device to experiment and see if the update you receive is good.

RSD Lite tool was not a part of any official ROM and you can’t install the tool on any of your device or you won’t be able to root your device. This tool has been used on a few devices by the developers. The tool was tested and it works for many devices.
This unofficial tool is based on the Samsung Odin and follows the same process as Samsung Odin. If you don’t know how to use Odin, we will not cover that here.
Rooting your Motorola device will help you in many ways. You can use a custom ROM on your device which will provide custom software and also root.
It is important to mention here that using this tool can brick your device. So make sure that you have backup your device before you flash the tool.
